BILDERBERG

LAST WEEK, at the Westfield Marriott in Chantilly, Virginia: New World Order Gathering Off-Limits to American Media

It is illegal for Americans to conduct foreign policy in private, according to the Logan Act.

  1. The bit about the Logan Act is really something of a red herring. Although threats have been made from time to time (the link mentions a couple of people so threatened; Jimmy Carter was another one), there has never been an actual prosecution under the law in its 209-year history.

What's more, it's very unlikely that in the event of a prosecution it would survive a Constitutional challenge as it is a clear restriction on speech. (If the Bilderberg meeting is illegal under the Logan Act, so too, arguably, are the letters I've sent to various governments on my own and on behalf of Amnesty International.)

The Logan Act is kind of like having a gun you know will misfire: In order to have it around to brandish threateningly, you will avoid pulling the trigger and thereby showing that you are actually unarmed.

In fact, the real issue about such as the Bilderberg group is not that the meetings are not approved by the government, but that they are.
