1800 ATTEND REMEMBRANCE MASS

'Voor de koning te steunen.'

Today, exactly 15 years ago, king Baudouin died in his Spanish holiday home in Motril. He was 62 years old and had been king of the Belgians for 42 years.

A remembrance mass was held (an annual event) at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe church of Laken. It was attended by queen Fabiola (his widow), king Albert (his brother), queen Paola (Albert's wife) and princess Astrid (his niece).

1800 people attended the mass; there were hundreds of visitors per hour in the royal crypt.
