He's all hat and no horse

Ft Worth Star-Telegram AUSTIN -- If Gov. Rick Perry was hoping his comments that concealed-handgun license holders should be allowed to carry their firearms anywhere in Texas would spur lawmakers to remove restrictions on such places as churches, schools and courthouses, his aim was wide of the mark.

Perry was reacting to questions about whether Texas colleges should be open to the right-to-carry law after the massacre at Virginia Tech last month.

"I think it makes sense for Texans to be able to protect themselves from deranged individuals, whether they're in church or whether on a college campus or wherever," Perry said Monday.

Erm, right, Rick Good Hair Perry, as the late darlin' Molly Ivins used to call him. The Guv's as confused as a goat on astro-turf on this issue.

Can we say Republican fear mongering?

The Chron's editorial is saner than the Guv.
