Affordable Housing Action TODAY in Burlington

Vermont Interfaith Action has scheduled an Action today at Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, 188 N. Prospect St. from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. VIA is encouraging UVM to build affordable housing for their staff on a plot of land (one of several they own). VIA met with UVM President Dan Fogel on May 31 to discuss the issue and will hear what their decision is tonight. VIA has been meeting with UVM officals for a year, and there has been very little movement. It is important to have a large number of people OZ tonight, as a reminder that since UVM contributes to the shortage of housing in Burlington, they need to be part of the solution.
